On the left is a photo of a damaged Kitfox IV David Dodd and Ken Jones brought back from NY state.
It has damage to the cockpit area where the landing gear is attached.
It has a working 582 engine, but probably needs an overhaul.
The house in the photo is the home of the gentleman who donated all the component parts of the Kitfox IV which just happen to be connected in the form of an aircraft.
He did not transfer to us the FAA registration with the N number and serial number, which poses some serious questions how or what we might be able to do with the aircraft or its parts.
In any case, we have an excellent project and we sincerely express our thanks to Ken Jones for spearheading the acquisition of this project.
OUR BENEFACTOR - Charles Broschart (pictured on the right), formerly of Ulster Park, NY, donated the Kitfox IV to Chapter 36, which we are currently rebuilding. Charles built and flew this aircraft for many years. He chose us for his donation in the hope that a lot of young people would learn the fundamentals of aircraft and aviation through it's restoration.
Thanks to Bob Hixon, chairman of the group working on this project started 2009.
The Kitfox was sold February 2012.
A special thanks goes to Ken Jones for his work in selling this aircraft.
