Fantastic weather and a great turnout made the Wings and Wheels event at the Hagerstown Regional Airport a great success. On the wheels side many cars from many decades turned out for display, all beautiful examples of what hard work and a dedicated owner can produce.
Young Eagles were out in force as well and were very popular. Many were flown and most came off their ride wishing they could go again, the interest was so great the staff had to start taking names and will be contacting and flying those Young Eagles at a future date, stay tuned.
And don't forget the Wings part of Wings and Wheels. Many historic aircraft built by the Fairchild Aircraft Company in Hagerstown, MD were on display by the Hagerstown Aviation Museum who sponsored the event. They have one of the most complete collections of Fairchild Aircraft anywhere; although still waiting on that A10.
We also had a visit from the Northeast Bonanza Group that did some formation flying and flyovers at the event. What a great site to see and listen to, Bonanzas and Barons at 1000 ft. If you want to know more about them visit their Facebook page.
And let's not forget the dedicated volunteers serving up the food in the EAA booth. What event would be complete without really tasty hot dogs, hamburgers and cheesburgers right of the grill and did they serve it up.
